Report - Stardate 95104.28:

At approximately 0008 hours GMT, the U.S.S. Gilgamesh received a communication from a Vorta in service to the Dominion informing Alliance Captains of additional information being compiled regarding the "strange signals at the edges of [Alliance] territory". The Vorta, identifying herself as Loren, invited Alliance Captains to observe the results as they were being transmitted to Bajor. The Gilgamesh responded.

Loren explained that a Jem'Hadar carrier group had found in the Hromi Cluster a similar anomaly to that encountered in the Zenas Expanse by the Steadfast. Given the distance between the Zenas Expanse and the Hromi Cluster, the Dominion investigated, using stellar trigonometry to attempt to determine a point of origin via subspace.

The results were, for lack of a better term, quite fascinating. While there was no determination of origin via subspace, when mapped within regular space, the point of origin appears to be another galaxy entirely, moving into the Milky Way via an unknown method of transportation.

The Dominion found no signs of sentience within the anomalies beyond simple problem-solving skills. When a recommendation was requested, Captain Mundy recommended a form of direct study, but noted that further instruction from Command was necessary. The Gilgamesh remains available if requested in the investigation of these anomalies.

- Captain Ronald Mundy, U.S.S. Gilgamesh.

Addendum: Upon request, Loren agreed to seek permission from the Founders to translate the Dominion reports. These may be helpful for future study.
