BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION
Born and raised on Betazed, Kay is the sole heir to Pricsilla Durandus of the Third House of Betazed, married to Tarkis (Duval) Durandus of the Thirteenth House of Betazed. Kay spent most of her childhood living on Betazoid with a close relationship to a childhood friend named Helyana Cleeburn.
When Kay was the age of 17, Pricsilla and Tarkis began working at the Mira Romaine Center for Rehabilitation and Reintegration on Betazed Station 4 during the Battle of Betazed in 2374. After the conclusion of the war, Kayshl's parents remained on the station and Kayshl returned to Betazed to begin her education.
To honor her mother and ancestry of the Third House, she enrolled as pre-med at the University of Betazed. After completing her undergraduate degree in Human Physiology, Kay enrolled at the Ministry of Health on Betazed, with the long term goal of pursuing a career as a general surgeon. After graduation and 5 years of residency at Rixx Regional Hospital, she decided to join Starfleet. Her mother and father were both in full support of her decision.
