I'm around, but unfortunately for you I'm a PC player.  Maybe somebody else will chip in?

Miranda Station lies somewhere near the Badlands in the Cardassia Sector, but its exact location is a carefully guarded secret (from the Federation, at least).

It is led by General JarHok, leader of House JarHok, and is home to a strange mixture of KDF vessels, civilian ships and privateers, collectively known as "The Reavers".

Serenity Station is an Immense-class starbase in the Fahleena System, on the edge of the nebula known as the "Badlands", in the Cardassia Sector of the Alpha Quadrant.  It is about a day's travel from DS9 for a fast Starfleet starship.  Its primary task is search and rescue, although like any starbase they also take on many other jobs as needed.

The starbase has something of a reputation for being a place Starfleet officers are sent when they have been misbehaving.

General Discussion / Re: Greetings

Hello!  Nice to hear from a new member.  Sorry I didn't answer sooner.
Good character story.
This site isn't a fleet as such but a would-be meeting-place for RPers from all fleets.  You might find someone on here who has a fleet for you - have you tried contacting any of the fleets from the Fleet Recruitment section?
I'm in GMT so we probably won't meet in real time but I'll add you to my friends list anyway!

General Discussion / Re: Off-peak players, unite!

Luckier and luckier, because I'm not much into "just meet up at Quark's and stand around" roleplaying either.  My next post was going to be ideas for things to experiment with in the hope of livening spontaneous RP in "social areas" up a bit, if that's all that's available - one was playing Quark and/or Hadron as (shared) characters, one was being a floor singer, and I forget the other at the moment.  That would probably still come in handy at times, there'll always be that, but it would be better still to have things that weren't it.  And there was me thinking that this had been a flop.  Thank you!

General Discussion / Off-peak players, unite!

I'm British, and there are rarely any other RPers around when I log into STO and the role-play-focused fleets I've looked at usually seem to schedule their RP events, the ones where they actually do anything rather than just stand around talking about it, for what for me is the middle of the night.  Sound familiar?

Role-players from Europe, from Asia, or anyone else who just happens to have a schedule such that they can't play in American peak hours, have a bit of a raw deal.  In STO there isn't any one fleet, that I know of, that has enough of us together to give a decent chance of having someone to play with.  Of course, if there is any such fleet, one which genuinely is busy at off-peak times, and with actual role-play going on, I'd be very glad to hear about it.

I think we need to all get together somehow.  Added together across the game, there might be a decent number of us, and we could organise RP events in our own hours, or not necessarily even events but just "next Tuesday from 5pm GMT is RP day, look out DS9".

We could start a fleet, or all flock to one existing fleet.  But speaking for myself, I want to stay with the fleet I'm currently in, at least with my two mains.  The other option is we could just form a cross-fleet group via the forum.

Anyone interested?

No, I mean, if I want to put up something like "Serenity Station is an Immense-class starbase located in the Fahleena system
on the edge of the Badlands, approximately 1 day out from Deep Space 9 for a fast Starfleet ship.  The base's primary function is search and rescue, but..." [etc.], so we can all mention each others' bases in RP if we want to and have a kind of extended universe.  IC information, exactly.  If I want to put up a recruiting message, I'd do that separately.

Also, where are the image files of pips for dossiers?  It's not possible to locate the pips for other ranks from the address of the ones Nylassa Alundi used, it's just an Imgur address.  I did have a look on the "Kuro" website but couldn't identify which ones these are.

Good, thanks for the speedy reply!  Would "Organisations" be the correct place to list fleets, stations and starbases?

Do the words "the Alliance" in the Galactic Comnet section - in "Dossiers", for instance - refer to a specific fleet or group associated with this board, or does it refer to "the Alliance" between the Federation, the Klingon Empire and the Romulan Republic, and any character's dossier can be posted there, even if they belong to other fleets?

I belong to a fleet (Firefly Fleet) that doesn't often RP in game.  I don't want to leave it, because I have some good friends there in general and we have some RPs on our forum, but if I want to RP in the game I'm going to have to look elsewhere for people to play with.  Could I post my character/s in Dossiers, or is that for something else?

Given what a small minority RPers are within STO itself (rather than on forums, etc.), I think it would be a good idea if, heck, all of us used this forum as a kind of meeting point, so each of us isn't restricted to the one or two or no other RPers of their own fleet that happen to be available at the time.  We could list all of our stations, bases, etc. as a sort of expanded universe (though obviously not everyone's canons will match exactly).
Admittedly if that ever happened it would turn the board from the quietest in STO to the biggest.
I'm new to this board and don't really understand how it's meant to be used, though I've used the in-game chat channel for a long time.
